Valued Directions is a psychotherapy private practice dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible video and tele-health therapy services to adults navigating transitional life stressors.

 

With a compassionate and client-centered approach, we empower clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a non-judgmental environment. Our mission is to support individuals in achieving mental wellness by fostering growth, healing, and personal development.

Valued Directions has over 20 years of experience in helping adults navigate life's most difficult transitions. Whether you're struggling with depression, relationship challenges, or simply feeling "stuck," I'm here to help you restore balance and move toward a life of fulfillment.

 

I strive to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered to make lasting changes. My approach is solution-focused and goal-oriented, compassionate and client-centered. I work with you in partnership to help you uncover solutions to your challenges so we don't get "stuck" on the problems themselves.

Background

Completing her education in Australia, Michelle began her career in the United Kingdom at the Youth Justice Board, working with at risk youth and their families before moving to California and working for the UCSD Department of Psychiatry in correctional settings.

 

Upon obtaining her license, Michelle dedicated her career to working with active duty service members and  Veterans for over a decade, providing trauma informed care, specializing in dual diagnosis, substance use, mood disorders and anxiety management.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Michelle's work is seeing clients set meaningful, value-driven goals and achieving them. Michelle partners with you to ensure you are empowered to reach your full potential.

 

As you work through life's transitions, Michelle will be there to guide, encourage, and challenge you to push past obstacles and create the life you want.

Through ongoing professional development, Michelle stays updated with the latest therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices. Her expertise includes trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based therapy, and cognitive-behavioral interventions.

 

Restoring clients to a state of physical, mental and emotional health is the most rewarding aspect of her practice and she relies heavily on the latest advances in behavioral science to ensure clients continue to receive the best therapeutic services available.
